From the 14th of November for four days Portavin WA’s quality systems and practices were put under the microscope as we underwent our annual BRC external audit.
Across our two WA sites (Perth and Margaret River), our level of compliance to the BRC, HACCP and Aldi standards were put to the test where all aspects of documentation, systems, QC checks, record keeping and site standards were intensively reviewed by an external auditing body.
We are thrilled to report that we passed with flying colours and having improved against last year’s rating both sites now hold A grade accreditation.
Portavin WA’s general manager Anthony Davis said that although the accreditation process and audit is an intensive process knowing we are operating to the highest possible standard makes it all worthwhile.
BRC Global Standards is a world leading food safety and quality certification program, used by over 23,000 certificated suppliers in 123 countries ensuring that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer.
“The annual audit gives all of Portavin’s staff and customers the assurance that all of our systems and processes are of the highest standards possible,” Anthony said.
“The auditors praised our record keeping along with the organised approach we take to being quality focussed across everything we do. They also gave a rave review of the Margaret River warehouse, commenting on how organised, tidy and well-presented it is,” he said.
“I thank our entire team for upholding such high standards across the business with a special mention to Jas Anderson (WA) and Rob Welch (VIC) who assisted greatly in the outcome of this audit,” Anthony said.
Portavin is committed to being Australia’s leading wine packaging company with five sites across Australia helping wine producers take their wine from tank to shelf.
