PET is also environmentally friendly, shatterproof and offers a long shelf life.

Andrew McIlfatrick - Site Manager

Bringing over twenty years of Manufacturing expertise to the site Andrew joined Portavin in late 2020. He is excited to be back in the wine sector after a period of working in and further developing his management skills across the food, beverage, and chemical industries. Andrew has a proven track record in streamlining processes to increase efficiency, minimize waste and deliver maximum outcomes for customers.

Andrew holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business majoring in finance and economics. He has long held a passion for the wine industry and is inspired by the innovation, dedication and craft that goes into the making, packaging and selling of wine. Andrew enjoys developing associations with others and is looking forward to cultivating rewarding, long-term relationships with Portavin’s valued customers. Andrew values the vast range of skills and experiences represented by his team and with them, will continue to pursue quality outcomes and business advances.

Andrew is kept busy in his ‘spare time’ with house renovations and juggling the needs of his large family. He looks forward to relaxing by the fire and sharing a good bottle of wine.

Michael Foulds - Customer Service Manager

Michael joined the team at Portavin Victoria in 2011 after contracts with the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and 2006 Doha Asian Games working in the Athletes Village and Main Stadium in logistics roles.

He brought his experience in logistics, stock control and a deadline orientated focus to graduate through various roles with Portavin that included post bottling reconciliation, Third party sales and procurement, supervision of the dry goods warehouse team and onto his current role as Customer Service Manager.
Michael leads a very capable team that enjoys assisting our customers to realise the end goal of their hard work. His aim is to allow the customer to focus on what they do best, making the wine and Portavin can do the rest.

When not helping our customer base of over 300 wineries and producers, Michael loves cooking and spending quality time with his family. His 3 boys certainly keep him and his wife busy!

Gavin Wade – Production Manager

Gavin started in the beverage bottling and packaging industry in Adelaide in 1990, working for both Regal & Ross and Southern Beverages. He joined Portavin in 1996 working as an operator on the mobile lines.

Gavin was appointed Production Manager during the establishment of the Portavin Melbourne facility in 2002 and took responsibility for the installation of equipment and commissioning of the site.

Currently Gavin is responsible for all of the staff and activities involved in the day to day running of the production lines and works closely with Tim Ross to organize the production schedules. Gavin is also responsible for the creation and ongoing management of PVM’s quality management system.

Matt Aldridge – Wine Technical Services Manager and Warehouse Manager

Matt developed an interest in wine and food as a teenager back in the 1970’s through his family’s restaurant and vineyard in Malmsbury, Central Victoria. Matt graduated in Oenology at Roseworthy College in 1985. He then spent the next 17 years as a winemaker for successful and respected Australian wineries – including Rosemount Estate, Killerby Vineyards and Eyton on Yarra.

In 2002 he started his own winemaking consultancy based in the Yarra Valley. For the next 7 years Matt worked for many clients and was involved in a diverse range of wine related activities, including show judging.

Matt brings enthusiasm and a wide range and depth of experience to the Portavin team in his new role as Wine Technical Services Manager and Warehouse Manager.

Daniel Mirabella - Sales Representative

Working with Portavin since 2017, Daniel was initially on the production line  and then moving to the warehouse to work as the admin. Since 2020, Daniel looks after the customer accounts as well as all the aspects of warehouse logistics.

Prior to his stint with Portavin, Daniel had his own fruit shop business for 9 years in Mont Albert. While he is not dealing with customers and logistics, Daniel likes to spend his time walking his dog as well as enjoying good quality wine.

Having stewarded a number of regional wine shows, Daniel definitely knows a lot about wine !
